The debate on all time great Tennis player will take a new dimension from now on now that Rafael Nadal has won his Ninth French Open title. The most grandslams in any one event for any player. That he was able to achieve this in an era as competetive as todays mens Tennis is remarkable in itself. That he has shown the commitment to come back as he did from serious knee injuries that troubles him in 2012 is a testament to the man's insatiable hunger.

His greatest achievements though remain his wins in Wimbledon, US Open and Australian Open, and with the French Open 2014 putting him on par with Pete Sampras at 14 grandslams, just three adrift of Roger federer, it is his legitimate claim to being an all time great tennis player by virtue of his total dominance of Roger Federer head to head as well as his Olympic singles Gold. Not bad for someone who started as a Clay court specialist!

Vamos Rafa!
